by several bus operators. Timetables and maps are available from Northallerton and other Tourist
information centres, the Library and some information will be
found at bus stops. There are regular services around the town during the day. There are
also daytime services to Bedale, Leyburn, Hawes, Catterick, Richmond, Stokesley, Ripon,
Easingwold, York, Thirsk, Darlington. However many of the surrounding villages only have a single "service" on market days.

Parking in Northallerton is a confusing mixture of free on street Disc Parking and off street pay and display. Hambleton District council have a page or two here that attempts to explain the situation. Basically there is two hour free disc parking on the High Street and surrounding roads. On street spaces are normally easier to find at the North end of the High Street between All Saints Church and the level crossing, there are also customer car-parks at the Homebase and Sainsbury stores.
Rail Services: Northallerton Station is about 800 yards south of the High Street. The station is on the
East Coast Mainline
and has a few direct services to London and Edinburgh as well as 4 daily direct services to London courtesy of open access operator Grand Central Railway.
There are Transpennine Express services to
Thirsk, Middlesbrough, Darlington, York and beyond with connections to the
East Coast mainline and Cross
Country services at York and Darlington.

Airports: Durham Tees Valley (Teesside) Airport (MME) is about 30 minutes drive from Northallerton with scheduled
services to Amsterdam, Aberdeen & Southampton. The airport charges a "Passenger Facility Fee" of £6/£2 for all departing passengers. Public transport to the airport is by bus from Darlington or Stockton.
